Two-factor codes & backup codes

Add a two-factor secret

When you turn on two-factor authentication, the website usually shows a QR code, often with a link like “Can’t scan it?” that reveals a secret (letters and digits).

Edit the account, paste the secret (or an otpauth:// link) into Two-factor secret and save. Vaultyn then shows the same 6-digit codes as your phone’s authenticator.

Use it on your phone too

In the account details, click QR code and scan it with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or similar to get the same codes on your phone.

Backup codes

Sites usually give you a set of single-use backup (recovery) codes. Paste them into the account’s Backup codes, tick each one off as you use it, and always see how many are left.

Security questions

Some sites ask for security questions. Add Security questions to the account; the answers are encrypted just like passwords.
