FAQ

Does Vaultyn upload my data?

No. Vaultyn has no server and no account system. Your data is encrypted and stored only on your Mac and in the folder you choose. Features that use the network (such as the breach check) are listed in the privacy policy.

How is my data encrypted?

Your master password is turned into an encryption key with Argon2id, and all data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. See Security.

Can it autofill passwords on websites?

No. Vaultyn is an account ledger and injects nothing into web pages, which also reduces phishing risk. Press ⌘C to copy a password when you need it; the clipboard is cleared after a set time.

How do I delete all my data?

Delete your data folder, clear the locally stored data in Settings → About → Danger zone, then delete the app. We hold none of your data, so there’s nothing else to request.
