Forgot master password

Reset with the recovery key

1. On the lock screen, click Forgot master password?
2. Enter the recovery key you saved when you created the vault.
3. Set a new master password.

If the recovery key is lost too

Unfortunately the data can’t be opened, and we can’t help either. Vaultyn has no server and no back door — that’s exactly what makes it yours alone.

To avoid this in future:

• Once Vaultyn is open, you can change the master password in Settings → Security.
• Print the recovery key together with your emergency sheet and keep them somewhere safe.
